The Plantworx Exhibition, spread over 135,000 sqm is the largest biennial PLANT Exhibition in the UK catering for businesses in both the construction and road maintenance industries. Whether the 14,000 visitors had an interest in diggers, earthmover or pavers, everybody was catered for.

Of the 344 exhibitors we certainly weren’t the only paver specialists in attendance but we’re proud to say that we believe we had the biggest display of paver machines, including the new Sumitomo paver which we are introducing to the UK market for the first time this year. A number of exhibitors had demonstration areas showing how machines worked, manoeuvrability, along with scale of production available which added to the public interest.

With sales agreed at the show and further leads to follow up, all the hard work for the exhibition paid off and we look forward to working with our new clients and existing customers in the upcoming months to meet their tarmacing requirements.

“A big thank you to all the staff at Pavemac for creating an exhibition display we were proud of. And to the staff; John Finn, Alistair Bridgement, Tracy Larham, Ben Pope and Bruno Roveri for bearing with the sun and rain over the three days. The exhibition has proved successful in terms of making the industry more aware of our brand and capabilities as well as in sales. We look forward to the next Plantworx in 2017.”

Keith Dearing, Director

With a desire to be proactive within the paving industry, we are pushing the market forward following the launch of the New to the UK Sumitomo HA60W Asphalt Paver and the Roadtec SB2500e Shuttle Buggy, first on display at Plantworx. The industry’s response to both machines at the exhibition was phenomenal with customers travelling at distance for the opportunity to see the Sumitomo paver and Roadtec 2500e for the first time.

The Sumitomo paver is fulfilling the need for a 6 metre screed machine within the paving industry making it the first available to the UK and Eire market and compliments Pavemac’s already large range of Ammann asphalt pavers. Sumitomo the Japanese manufactured paver boasts all the latest in paver technology featuring the Unique 6 meter width screed (without need for extension boxes) with hydraulically adjusted screed and mould board, giant bucket style hopper holding up to 13 ton capacity and front wheel traction control with brake steering.

Pavemac are the sole supplier and dealer of this machine to the UK and Eire paver market, supported by their dedicated after sales service team.

The Roadtec SB2500e Shuttle Buggy, is a large material transfer and remixing vehicle manufactured in the USA. This machine enables asphalt to be laid at a constant pace without the need for stopping and re-filling the hopper of the paver. By holding and circulating the hot asphalt within its body, the asphalt is kept at a constant temperature allowing it to be laid even if it has formed a crust before delivery, making the machine a cost effective process with no wasted time or asphalt loads, plus ensures an even temperature of material laid behind the paver. Major contractors have identified that a large proportion of mat failures are due to laying uneven temperature material, which is normally the cold spots formed at the front and rear of the transport lorry, these areas are often the first to fail on the carriageway. The Roadtec 2500e eliminates this problem by ensuring a completely even temperature throughout the asphalt layer.
